Executive, Technical Services, Daan van den Berg is a South African citizen born in 1970, who currently works for Kamoa Copper S.A. in the Lualaba Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Prior to joining Kamoa, Daan built-up his reputation as a loyal, well-rounded, and experienced engineer with nearly three decades of experience. He started his career as a miner at Gold Fields, South Africa where he worked his way up to a Senior Unit Manager.

He furthered his career by joining Anglo Platinum for several years and later Anglo American as Head of Mining Engineering. SRK Consulting Engineering approached him in 2009 and he decided to pursue the opportunity as Principal Mining Engineer. After three years he joined Hatch where he worked as a Senior Mining Consultant before establishing his own company in 2016 before crossing paths with Kamoa Copper S.A.
