As an Exploration Geologist with 13 years at Kamoa Copper, I’ve witnessed firsthand how this company leads the way in promoting both career growth and gender equality in the mining sector. From just a few female geologists on-site when I started, to now over 300 women across roles, Kamoa has been transforming the industry’s inclusivity. Working at Kamoa Copper has been a rewarding experience where people are truly at the centre of everything we do. With a background in civil chemical engineering and years of experience in the mining industry, I joined Kamoa in 2021 as the Senior Concentrator Superintendent. Since then, I have had the privilege of leading the start-up operations for various phases of the concentrator and optimising production. What excites me most about Kamoa Copper is the trust and support from leadership, the positive work environment, and being part of a team that is writing a new chapter in the mining industry. Working at Kamoa Copper has been an incredible journey of growth and opportunity. Starting as a Drill Rig helper, I’ve now advanced to Superintendent III, Tech Training, where I can make a real difference in employees’ skills and safety through technical training. Joining Kamoa Copper in July 2023 as the Superintendent in charge of Customs and Risk Management in the Outbound Logistics department has been an exciting step in my career. With a passion for logistics and years of experience in export operations, I oversee the entire customs procedure for the export of copper concentrates and blisters. I love the opportunity to interact with people from around the world and make a positive impact, ensuring that truck drivers can return home safely.
